Product Info
The ST5000 BaseStation is the latest Building Access Security series
designed and manufacturered by Sierra Technology. Based on the successful and popular ProxStation
and Starprox series of single door access control systes, the new and exciting ST5000 BaseStation
Series is incorporated onto a single integrated processor board with built-in power supply and control
module, card read interface electronics as well as lock control and monitoring circultry.
The BASeStation is an integrated two door controller which offer more
flexibility and reliability for any applications. It also provide a lower total cost of ownership (TOC).
Sierra Techology is taking the leading step to introduce the advanced design methodology to address
the market demand for simple to install and maintain systems that do not compromise system integrity
and security. Conventional door access control system available in the market today are mostly based
on rather complicated controller / processor boards with external reader interface electronics and
power supply units - with equally complicated and proprietary wiring inter-connections. All wiring from
the external card reader as well as lock are directly wired to the central processor board, alleviating
the cumbersome and often error-prone multi-level wiring works.
Each ST5000 BASeStation has built-in control for up to two doors with up to
four external readers. The processor board also supports status monitoring of up to four ancillary door
closure contacts and thus saving the need and extra cost to install additional equipment for such add-on
features.
The ST5000 BASeStation supports most third party reader technologies via
Wiegand data interfaces for a variety of contact and contactless cards, smart cards, keypads, barcode
and biometric technologies. The ST5000 BASeStation works best with the
Sierra Technology contactless proximity card reader series (such as PR50,
PR80 and PR52K (Keypad & LCD)).
Optional expansion features include support for serial reader interfaces as well as 10 Base-T Ethernet
connectivity to corporate network infrastructure.
Each BASe3000 software can support up to 128 units of
BASeStations. Larger configurations are possible by inter-process communications
where the respective BASe3000 software installations can communicate with each other across
Ethernet networks.
Networking is via on Board Ethernet 10BaseT or via Industrial standard RS485. BASe3000
software provides value-added features like graphical floor plans, time attendance modules and extensive data
reporting and exporting.
